Robert S ★ 4 · Jul 2022Very nice large group camp. Camp sites are spread out decently well for some level of privacy in the group. The central spot has plenty of room for everyone to gather and hang out. Bathrooms were clean and freshly stocked. But beware, even with the gates closed, people will open the gate and drive in. Or simply park at the gate and walk around and intrude. We had to run multiple people out.
Jen W ★ 5 · Oct 2021This site is a little wonky for a group, it's a driveway with several spots on the river side, with the road on the other. There is a central area where multiple tents could be, but the other sites are a bit away from that area. For RV's, you can leave them parked in the driveway, and open both gates (one at each end) as there is not really a turnaround. But a large RV would fit if you just leave it in the road and don't plan the other cars to drive through. There IS a place to get right to the river, unlike some reviews, at about the 3rd campsite there is a little trail down that's pretty easy to navigate. The other sites don't really have river access though. It was really nice to have the whole place to ourselves. The bathroom was stocked with TP. We would reserve it again.
Tim W ★ 4 · Jul 2021Nice, peaceful site. It's not really conducive to a tight knit group camping experience though. Think of it as a collection of individual campsites. The site is long and narrow, so each campsite is pretty much by itself. Also, for families with small kids, the site is a bit dangerous as each campsite has a steep drop-off to the water below. Overall, had a great time though.

Boardman Group Camp sits on the banks of the Stillaguamish River inside Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, reached via the Mountain Loop Scenic Byway about 8 miles east of the Verlot Public Service Center (and roughly 16 miles east of Granite Falls along the Highway 7 corridor). The site is surrounded by old-growth cedar, fir and hemlock that shadow a wide, gently flowing river and a network of moss-covered trails; on a clear day the snowfields of Mt. Baker are visible to the north. Wildlife is varied in this part of the Cascades songbirds, amphibians and the occasional larger mammal use the undeveloped forests and clean streams and anglers come specifically for the river's runs of chinook, coho, chum, pink and sockeye salmon as well as steelhead, sea-run cutthroat and bull trout. Summer and early fall are best for hiking, horseback riding, fishing and picnicking, while winter opens opportunities for skiing and snowshoeing on nearby routes and trails. The campground consists of just one site (total campsites: 1): a group site that accommodates both RVs and tents and can hold up to 35 people. The site includes picnic tables and campfire rings with grills; vault toilets are provided but there is no potable water on site, so bring your own supply. RVs are welcome, though you should expect a small amount of highway noise from the adjacent road much of it is softened by the sound of the river. Because there is only one group site, reservations are essential; note that once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager can modify your reservation. For facility-specific questions, current availability or other details call (360) 386-8214 before you go.
