“Host was awesome! I left sandals at the site and he mailed them to me! Campground is small and near a busy road. Locals come down to swim and play loud music late in the evening!”
“This is a very small, quiet 1-driveway campground with several river beach access points for sitting or fishing. Lots of good nearby hikes to choose from, as well as the Oso Memorial is a moving visit, and some good eats in downtown Darrington. ”
“we loved clear creek campground. we camped at site 12 and had a beautiful view of the creek as well as some soothing background noise to fall asleep to. very serene atmosphere although a little busy. we had good neighbors and enjoyed our stay”

Clear Creek Campground sits directly off the Mountain Loop Highway in the western Cascades within Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, about 3 miles south of Darrington. The site is set among tall firs with a number of open spaces that make it comfortable for small groups and family outings. There are 12 total campsites; each of the 12 sites is a standard site suitable for both RVs and tents (no specialty hookup information is provided), and most sites include a picnic table, tent pad and a metal campfire ring. Vault toilets are on site, and the campground provides direct access to the Sauk River for shoreline exploring and short riverside strolls. For planning or facility-specific questions call the campground at (360) 386-8214. The surrounding national forest offers a wide range of day-use options: roughly 1,500 miles of trails across the forest support everything from gentle nature walks to steep mountain climbs, and activities in the region include biking, boating, fishing, horseback riding and winter sports, as well as auto touring, OHV routes, interpretive programs and overnight stays in historic fire lookout cabins where available. From Clear Creek you can reach the short Frog Lake Trail a nearly mile-long climb that turns back through dense forest to a 1.5-acre alpine lake and the Old Sauk Trail, which follows the Sauk River and is a good route for birdwatching and spotting summer wildflowers. On clear days Mt. Baker's snow- and glacier-covered summit is visible from the area, and July August displays of paintbrush, lupine and other wildflowers color the riverbanks; salmon and steelhead runs also bring seasonal fishing opportunities. Note that once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager can modify your reservation, so confirm dates and details before arrival.
