“Overall a great experience. The restrooms became over powering but then again they are vaults so you’ll have that. ”
“This is one of the only campgrounds I truly like to pay for! We are usually an off grid kind of camping family! But we make it a must to camp at perception every year! They are always clean, next to the river and the camp hosts are always friendly and helpful.”
“Campground looked great and Host were great they checked in on us often. ”

Perception Park sits at about 5,200 feet along the South Fork of the Ogden River, roughly 7 7.5 miles east of Huntsville off Highway 39 through Ogden Canyon. The campground's cottonwoods and willow shade a riverfront setting where tubing and bank fishing are the day's draws; moose and deer are occasional visitors, and a paved nature trail runs right beside the water for easy, fully accessible strolls. The site layout includes 19 total campsites all configured to accept both RVs and tents made up of 9 single sites (capacity 8), 6 double sites (capacity 16), 1 triple site (capacity 24) and three group sites (each accommodating up to 50 people). Most sites have cement pads, picnic shelters, tables, grills and defined campfire circles; roads and parking spurs are paved, vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and firewood is sold by the host. On-site amenities that make it family-friendly include accessible playgrounds, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. Perception Park is a convenient base for a wide range of Ogden Valley recreation: tubing and fishing on the South Fork start at your campsite, while Pineview Reservoir (short drive away) and nearby Causey Reservoir offer boating, swimming, canoeing and additional fishing. Highway 39 continues toward Monte Cristo Summit for scenic driving and access to numerous hiking, OHV and horseback trails in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Fees are posted on-site and payable by Cash, Check, or Scan & Pay with the Recreation.gov app: single sites $29, double $58, triple $87, group sites $304, day use $50, walk-in visitors $8 per person, picnic sites $15 and $10 per extra vehicle. Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov (billing appears as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777"); note a $10 service fee applies to most changes or cancellations, late cancellations for individual sites generally forfeit the first night's fee, no-shows may be assessed a $20 fee and forfeit use fees, and refund requests must be made within 14 days of departure. For facility-specific questions call (385) 273-1100.
