What guests say

“This place was lovely!! They were very accommodating and helped with all of our needs!!”

Mindi O 5 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“THE BATHROOMS ARE WRETCHED. That is the only reason, well that and the lack of decent grassy area, but mostly the bathrooms, that makes it not 5 stars. I love the shade, the beach, the size of the camp spots.”

About

Anderson Cove sits on the shoreline of Pineview Reservoir about 10 miles east of Ogden, Utah, at roughly 5,000 feet elevation. The site feels more like a lakeside recreation area than a forest campground: open meadows and maintained lawns give way to pockets of shade trees and direct access to the reservoir for boating, fishing and swimming. A paved boat ramp and a sandy swimming beach are inside the campground, and quieter coves off the main body of water are popular with kayakers and canoeists. On land you'll find volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a small general store, a trailer dump, vault toilets and drinking water; the campground description also notes multiple group picnic shelters with at least some accessible spaces. The facility is large there are 117 campsites in total: 93 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, 15 tent-only sites and 9 glamping sites. Sites are organized into named loops and sections (Loop A: 14 sites; Loop B: 14; Loop C: 13; Loop D: 15; Layton: 45; Road: 11; plus single-site pockets labeled Ashley and Douglas), so you can choose a busier lakeside cluster or a quieter loop away from the beach and launch. Practical details matter here: site fees vary by type and season, with a standard single site at $36 (limits: 8 people, one self-contained unit plus up to five tents; one vehicle included, $10 for each extra vehicle), tent-only sites $27, double sites $72 (limits: 16 people, two self-contained units and up to 10 tents; two vehicles included), glamping sites $11 (deposit required), and group site fees listed at $330 (20 vehicles included; additional vehicles $10). Day-use and boat-launch fees are typically $20 plus a $3 county recreational fee; there are also charges for dump ($15), anchor ($15), and walk-ins ($8 per person). Reservations and changes carry a $10 service fee and late cancellations or no-shows can result in forfeiture of the first night's use fee (and possible additional service fees), so check Recreation.gov rules and cancel well before arrival if plans change. The campground is accessed from Ogden via 12th Street east through Ogden Canyon onto Highway 39 north of Pineview Reservoir (the campground lies on the left side of the highway); staffing is limited, so call (385) 273-1100 for current conditions and questions. If you want to stretch your day beyond the campsite, the Ogden River Scenic Byway runs along the reservoir and offers easy scenic driving, additional pullouts and river access through the surrounding Wasatch foothills.
