“Clean and spacious campsite! Host was kind and helpful!”
“This campground is probably one of the best I've been to the host was awsome and the restrooms were always clean we plan on going back time and time again.”
“Nice campground. Nice campground host. It's right above Pineview reservoir. But we went in July and it was very hot! Not high enough in the mountains to be cool. But my grandkids loved floating down the river. And they went to Pineview to swim and kayak.”

Lower Meadows Campground sits at about 5,300 feet along the South Fork of the Ogden River, roughly nine miles east of Huntsville on Highway 39. The site feels open campsites are spread well apart across grassy flats lined with cottonwoods and willow, and the river runs right alongside the loop, so you'll hear water through the trees. Wildlife sightings are common; moose and deer sometimes wander through in the early morning or at dusk. The campground contains 22 campsites in total (all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents); of those, 16 are single sites and 6 are double sites. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring, and vault restrooms are available in the campground. On-site and nearby recreation centers on the river and valley: fishing, swimming, and hiking are easy to do from the campground, and tubing the South Fork is popular (a life jacket is required). Causey Reservoir is about four miles to the east and Pineview and other Ogden Valley recreation areas boating, longer hikes, horseback riding and ATV trails, and scenic drives up toward Monte Cristo Summit are a short drive away. Practical details: single sites are $29 per night (capacity 8 people) and the double sites are $58 per night (capacity 16); day-use is $15, extra vehicles $10 each, and walk-in visitors are $8 per person. Payments accepted include cash, check, or Scan & Pay with the recreation.gov app. Reservations are managed through Recreation.gov and carry standard change and cancellation rules: a $10 service fee is withheld from refunds for cancellations, and late cancellations (the day before or day of arrival) incur the $10 fee and forfeiture of the first night's use fee (one-night reservations forfeiture rules differ as noted on Recreation.gov). Changing dates outside the original reservation window also incurs a $10 change fee; extensions or shortenings that include original reservation dates generally do not. No-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's fee. Interagency pass discounts apply only to certain passes (Senior Annual/Lifetime, Access, Golden Age, Golden Access), only to individual campsites, and the pass holder must occupy the site; discounts apply to the recreation/use fee only, not reservation or hookup charges. Refund requests can be made through your Recreation.gov profile (submit within seven days after the reservation ends for quickest handling), and card refunds are returned to the original card; Recreation.gov transactions may appear on your statement as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777 NM."
