“Great location. Lots of nice campsites. We go every year here and the family loves it. Fishing was great. My grandson caught lots of rainbows and some tiger trouts.”
“Beautiful lake and nearby campsites. Clean. No potable water - so bring plenty.”
“Well managed and clean campground. Camp host was available, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!”

Moosehorn Campground sits beside Moosehorn Lake at about 10,400 feet along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains, a compact high-country stop where white firs shade campsites and colorful summer wildflowers edge the shoreline. The lake itself is limited to non-motorized boats, so canoeing and kayaking feel quietly remote and anglers can expect rainbow trout in a small, trout-friendly environment; Mirror Lake Campground is nearby if you want more water access. Bald Mountain (11,943 feet) rises above the lake and several trailheads are within easy reach: the Fehr Lake Trail starts just outside the campground and the Bald Mountain Trail is accessible nearby, while a network of trails across the byway supports hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-highway vehicle use into the High Uintas Wilderness. Daytime summer temperatures are generally in the mid-60s to mid-70s, dropping to the 40s at night, and the unpaved access roads and parking spurs mean you should be ready for dirt and bring warm layers even in summer. The campground has 32 total sites 30 that accommodate both RVs and tents, one RV-only site and one tent-only site with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills at each single-family site; some sites include lake views. Facilities are basic but serviceable: vault toilets, trash collection and firewood for purchase from the host. Fees are $24 per single site per night (single-site capacity is typically up to eight people), day use is $10, and an extra vehicle is $10; reservations and most changes are handled through Recreation.gov (1-877-444-6777) and facility-specific questions can be directed to (385) 273-1100. Note the reservation policies: a $10 service fee applies to changes or cancellations, late cancellations may forfeit the first night's fee, and prolonged no-shows can incur additional charges and forfeiture of fees; refund requests must be made within 14 days of departure.
