Little Bear Group sits along Huntington Creek at about 6,500 feet on the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway (Utah Highway 31), roughly 13 miles west of Huntington. Pines and junipers shade the two large-group sites while the creek runs close enough that anglers can walk from camp to the water; Huntington Creek is a Blue Ribbon fishery with brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout. Hikers and riders will find access to the 4-mile Left Fork of the Huntington National Recreation Trail and the longer Fish Creek Trail (about 10 miles) for day trips or extended rides; the byway itself is part of the 86-mile Energy Loop, offering scenic driving and high-elevation viewpoints. Nearby you can visit the Stuart Guard Station Visitor Center to learn about local 1930s ranger life and Civilian Conservation Corps projects, and the wider Manti-La Sal National Forest supports biking, hunting, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs and, in season, winter sports. The campground is configured for groups rather than individual family sites: TOTAL CAMPSITES: 2 (SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: 2 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites), and each site (A and B) can accommodate up to 50 people and 15 vehicles. Sites come with picnic tables, metal campfire rings with grills and vault toilets; parking areas adjacent to the sites are dirt. There are no utility hookups, no drinking water and no trash collection at Little Bear, so plan to bring your own potable water and pack out all garbage. Sites are reservable to reserve the entire campground you must book both sites (A and B) at the same time and RVs and tents are both allowed, but expect a more primitive, self-sufficient experience than at developed campgrounds.
