Miller Flat Reservoir Campground sits at about 8,500 feet in a high mountain valley beside Miller Flat Reservoir, offering a quiet, tree-bordered meadow of aspen and fir. The site layout is small four campsites in total and each site is configured to accommodate both RVs and tents; visitors may arrange vehicles and trailers within their site as they choose. One of the four sites functions as a reservable group site (if not reserved it opens on a first-come, first-served basis), while the other three are double-family sites that are first-come, first-served only. Group cooking gear is provided at the group site: picnic tables, a fire ring, a dutch-oven fire pan and utility tables, and a vault toilet sits roughly 50 feet from the camping area. There are no hookups or services no electricity, potable water, sewer or garbage collection so plan to pack out trash and bring your own water and power. If you arrive without a reservation the fee is $5.00 per vehicle per night; to preserve reservation priority, first-come campers may only pay for two nights at a time. The campground is a practical base for fishing, paddling and trail exploration. Miller Flat Reservoir and nearby Potters Ponds are trout fisheries; Huntington Reservoir and Cleveland Reservoir lie a short drive north on Highway U-31 (Huntington has a boat ramp). The site provides direct access to a vast off-highway vehicle network the Arapeen Trail System offers more than 350 miles of maintained OHV routes reachable north or south from Miller Flat Road and the Lake Canyon Recreation Area and the northern trailhead of the Left Fork of the Huntington National Recreation Trail are immediately north of the campground. Hikers can also find routes about two miles south in Scad Valley. Because the setting is high-elevation and shaded in places by aspens and spruce, expect cool evenings and carry layers; maps for OHV routes are available from local hosts working in the area.
