“with only four spots it's never going to be super busy, nice meadow for the kids to explore”
“I had made the reservation online, and called the field office to verify the site was open. I spoke with a young lady and she told me the site was open. Drove to the campsite and it was closed. Ended up just parking on the side of the road for the night. ”
“A small tidy campground. Well maintained with clean toilet. A bit of road noise that quieted down at night. ”

Perched at about 8,700 feet along the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway (State Highway 31), Bridges Campground sits where Day Canyon opens into the main canyon and hardwoods give way to large spruce and aspen. Huntington Creek runs alongside the site and is a designated Blue Ribbon fishery anglers can expect brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout in the creek while a network of nearby trails invites day trips: the Left Fork of the Huntington Trail is about 4 miles for hikers and horse riders, and the 10-mile Fish Creek Trail is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. The byway itself is part of the 86-mile Energy Loop, rising above 10,000 feet and providing a scenic driving route with mountain and lake views; if you want interpretive history, the Stuart Guard Station Visitor Center nearby shows 1930s ranger life and Civilian Conservation Corps projects. The campground's footprint is compact: there are six campsites that accommodate both RVs and tents, and Forest Service information also notes a group campsite that can handle up to 30 people plus a handful of single-family spots. Facilities are basic vault toilets are available but there is no drinking water, no electricity, and no on-site garbage service, so plan to pack out what you bring in. Roads and parking spurs are dirt; horses are not allowed inside the campground, though two hitching racks stand just across the highway. Recreational opportunities in the broader Manti-La Sal National Forest include biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, winter sports and wildlife viewing; for fees, reservation options, and current road or seasonal conditions, check with the local ranger district before you go.
