About

East Fork Bear River Campground sits at about 8,400 feet along the Bear River roughly 35 miles south of Evanston, Wyoming, just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway through the Uinta Mountains. The site's seven total campsites are all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, each with a picnic table and a metal fire ring; capacity is eight people per site. Facilities are basic but practical vault restrooms are on site and the trees are a thin mix of pine and aspen, so shade is limited while summer wildflowers and grasses brighten the campsites. Fees are modest and straightforward: individual campsites are $22 per night, day-use is $15, extra vehicles are $10 each, and trailhead overnight parking is $5 per vehicle. Payment is accepted by cash, check, or by Scan & Pay with the Recreation.gov app; if you book through Recreation.gov the charge will appear on your statement as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777 NM." The campground provides direct river access for fishing and sits within a larger network of trails used for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and off-highway vehicle riding, while the national forest at large supports auto touring, boating, horseback riding, interpretive programs, swimming and wildlife viewing. Reservations and changes follow Recreation.gov policies: cancelling before arrival will result in a $10 service fee withheld from refunds; cancelling the day before or the day of arrival for an individual campsite carries the $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's use fee (a one-night reservation forfeits the entire payment and no additional service fee is charged). Change requests made prior to the cut-off window incur a $10 fee if you switch to dates entirely outside your original booking, but there's no change fee for extending or shortening your stay within the original reservation or for switching to a same-price site. No-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's recreation fee. Eligible Interagency Pass discounts (Senior Annual, Senior Lifetime, Access, Golden Age, Golden Access) apply only to the recreation/use fee for individual campsites and only if the pass holder occupies the site; refund requests are submitted through your Recreation.gov profile (within seven days of the reservation end for faster processing) and emergency closures trigger full refunds.
