“Awesome campground with easy access to Sisters. Our neighbors were quiet and respectful.”
“Clean, quiet. Easy to book. Rustic outhouse. Close to Sisters. Pretty, amongst the ponderosas. Can hear highway traffic.”

Indian Ford Campground sits on Indian Ford Creek about 5.6 miles northwest of Sisters on Highway 20, positioned between the town and the Metolius River/Suttle Lake corridor. The site is small 13 campsites in total and each can accommodate either an RV or a tent, so groups that mix vehicle and tent setups find the layout flexible. Sites are set among ponderosa pines that deliver steady shade and a small spring runs through the center of the loop, giving the campground a quiet, creekside feel and easy opportunities for bird and nature watching. There are no water or electrical hookups here, so plan to arrive with your own water supply; each campsite does include a picnic table plus a metal campfire ring with grill, and the campground is served by vault toilets. Note the reservation policy before you arrive: once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation. For activity options, Indian Ford is more of a trailhead neighborhood than a lakeside resort. Short hikes and singletrack for mountain biking are within a short walk or drive, and the nearby Sisters Wilderness Trails expand into longer day-trip routes. If you want to explore farther, Bend's Lava Lands Visitor Center and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument including the 5,211-foot Lava River Cave are regional draws within easy driving distance and offer interpretive exhibits and programs. The broader Deschutes National Forest around Indian Ford supports a wide range of outdoor pursuits, from fishing and horseback riding to auto touring and winter sports, so the campground makes a convenient, low-infrastructure base for exploring the volcanic landscape, river corridors, and trails of central Oregon.
