“We always love camping at the SouthShore on Suttle Lake. This is a beautiful and peaceful spot!”
“Very nice area but very poorly managed park. Roads in and out are heinous.”

South Shore Campground sits along the forested edge of Suttle Lake at about 3,400 feet, shaded by Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine and divided between a shoreline loop and a hillside section. There are 37 campsites in total, and every site accommodates both RVs and tents; each site includes a gravel parking spur, a picnic table and a campfire ring. Most sites offer lake views, and on clear days you can pick out Mt. Washington across the water. Basic services on-site are drinking water and vault toilets, with dump stations located throughout the campground and a fish-cleaning station for anglers. A hard boat launch at the campground makes it convenient to put in powerboats or non-motorized craft, and lake breezes at this elevation keep things comfortable in summer. Recreationally, South Shore is focused on the lake: expect boating of many kinds (sailing, water-skiing and windsurfing as well as traditional power and paddle craft) and fishing for rainbow trout, kokanee salmon and brown trout. The Suttle Lake Shoreline Trail runs about 3.2 miles and is open to hikers and mountain bikers for a pleasant loop around the lake. The campground is about a 12 15 mile drive northwest of Sisters, Oregon, reached from Highway 20/126 via Forest Service Road 2070 toward Suttle Lake; the South Shore entrance is shortly off that road. Note the practical details before you go: a $5 day-use fee administered at nearby Scout Lake is charged by the Forest Service (bring your confirmation letter), and once your reservation start date has begun neither Recreation.gov nor the campground manager can modify your reservation.
