White Wolf Campground sits high on the Tioga Road corridor at about 8,000 feet (2,400 m), a forested stopping point between Tuolumne Meadows and Crane Flat roughly an hour's drive from Yosemite Valley. The loop of sites is set about a mile north of the road near White Wolf Lodge, and several trailheads leave from the campground for Lukens and Harden Lakes and routes that drop into the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne a useful base for day hikes or for backpackers working deeper into the park's high-country wilderness. The area is quiet and largely service-poor compared with Yosemite Valley: White Wolf Lodge may offer very limited services when it is open, but otherwise the closest groceries, restaurants, post office and showery facilities are at Crane Flat, Tuolumne Meadows, or in the Valley, so plan to carry what you need. Note that the campground was closed for the 2022 season; under normal conditions it opens mid-July and closes mid to late September depending on Tioga Road access and seasonal work. Practical details are straightforward: White Wolf has 67 campsites in total 62 sites configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and five tent-only sites and a single standard fee of $36 per site. Seasonal facilities include potable water, flush toilets, trash/recycling collection, food-storage lockers, picnic tables, fire rings, an amphitheater and an on-site staff/host; wood and charcoal fires are permitted when the campground is open. There is no cell reception, internet, camp store, ice or firewood for sale, laundry, dump station or showers at the campground itself, and Tuolumne Meadows' dump station is available only in summer. Reservation changes follow park policy: cancellations more than 48 hours before arrival are refunded minus a $10 service fee; cancellations within 48 hours for multiple nights forfeit the first night's fee, while single-night cancellations within 48 hours receive no refund but are not charged an extra service fee; no-shows are charged the first night's fee plus a $20 service charge. For recreation, the broader Yosemite menu hiking, backpacking, climbing, fishing, horseback riding, biking and scenic auto touring is all reachable from Tioga Road, while the immediate White Wolf trails offer direct access to nearby lakes and high-country routes.
