“Nice park. Friendly camp hosts. Outhouse was pretty clean. Trees reduced our solar exposure but it’s a forest for goodness sake. Good location to access Yosemite and many hiking trails. Paved sites!”
“Great sites with great room and some along the River. The one thing I would say is the camp host ran their generator too much.”

Dimond O sits along the banks of the Middle Fork Tuolumne River, where cedar and ponderosa pine shade sites and a handful of campsites look out over the water. The campground is small 26 sites in all with 22 sites configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and 4 sites reserved for tents only; roads and parking spurs are paved and picnic tables and campfire rings are provided at each site. Many sites are accessible, and the loop includes accessible vault toilets and drinking water. On warm days campers commonly wade or swim in the river and try their luck at rainbow trout fishing; nearby trails include the Carlon Falls Trail at the Carlon Day Use Area and longer routes into Yosemite accessible from Hetch Hetchy. Dimond O is the closest Forest Service campground to Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance and is about a 19-mile drive east of the Groveland district office on Highway 120, then a short drive up Evergreen Road. Firewood is available for a fee; for current fees, seasonal opening dates, and reservation rules you should check with the Groveland District Office or recreation.gov before you go. Beyond the campsite itself, the Stanislaus National Forest offers a wide range of recreation boating, hiking, OHV use, winter sports, interpretive programs and a visitor center so the campground works well as a base for river recreation, day hikes to nearby falls, or a quick entry point into Yosemite.
