Roekmini P ★ 4 · Jun 2025This is a great campground! There were three large tables surrounding a campfire area and two pit toilets. There were lots of nice spaces to put a tent. FYI, It is at least a 45 minute drive away from cell phone service. Also, bring some of your own toilet paper in case it runs out. We were okay because we brought some of our own. Also, note that you have to get a burn permit for using a gas stove or lighting a campfire. (The permit is free, but has to be done online before you go).
Gerald C ★ 4 · Jun 2022Very enjoyable camping experience. We only had 17 people show up but that turned out to be a good thing. The site is very large but a lot of it wouldn't have made for great camping. It could use some more level tent spaces cut into it to make it more user friendly for larger groups than ours. The two outhouses were clean and in very good shape. There was plenty of shade keep out of the sun during the day. The camp host was very friendly and accommodating. This campsite is a little out of the way and there is not anyplace nearby to play in the water but with the Trail of 100 Giants close by and lots of trails for hiking we were vary happy.
Nicholas M ★ 4 · Jun 2022The location was beautiful, and even though you have to drive through a pretty burned out area it was very green. The only problem is that we were never able to find the freshwater source. There was a post but it was capped off. I called three times before we went there to make sure there was freshwater available, however, we were never able to find where it was.

Long Meadow Group Campground sits in the southern reaches of Sequoia National Forest inside the Giant Sequoia National Monument at about 6,400 feet elevation, surrounded by the lower-slope groves where giant sequoias dominate the landscape. The Trail of a Hundred Giants runs through the Long Meadow Grove nearby, and other nearby groves include Belknap and Freeman; a short drive into the northern monument brings you to the Boole Tree and Indian Basin Grove. Sequoia National Forest covers roughly 1.1 million acres with elevations from about 1,000 to 12,000 feet, so beyond the sequoias you'll find mountain streams and waterfalls such as Salmon Creek Falls and Grizzly Falls. Access to Long Meadow is off the primary local routes east of Highway 99: head through California Hot Springs on County Route J22, then follow M50 and M107 into the monument on a sequence of forest roads that lead to the campground entrance. The site is a single group campsite (TOTAL CAMPSITES: 1) and is listed as 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites, configured to hold up to 36 people and up to 5 vehicles; there are no electrical, water or sewer hookups and only vault toilets are provided. This is a remote facility with no nearby conveniences, so plan to arrive self-sufficient with food, water and fuel; the nearby Giant Sequoia Mercantile stocks maps, books and some camping supplies. The campground provides direct access to sequoia grove hiking and serves as a good base for forest activities such as biking, fishing, horseback riding and off-highway vehicle use that are available elsewhere in Sequoia National Forest. No fee, reservation or seasonal-availability details are provided here call the facility for specifics at (661) 455-6010 before you go.
