“Quiet campground in a evergreen forest. Pit toilets were clean. Picnic table was splintery, consider bringing a table cloth.”
“Great campsite that is not too far away from small markets, but still very isolated. ”

Quaking Aspen Campground sits at about 7,000 feet inside the Giant Sequoia National Monument on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, a short drive east of Springville on Highway 190 and roughly a half-day's approach from Porterville. The site is close to several distinctive sequoia groves McIntyre Grove and the large Freeman Creek Grove (1,425 acres, unlogged and home to the President George Bush Tree) are among the nearest draws and trails through Bear Creek Grove follow the Belknap Complex along Bear Creek and the Tule River. Fishing is available in nearby streams and the Tule River, and the Summit Trailhead sits about 10 miles to the north for longer hikes. The campground's lower-density setting means some sites look out over a meadow and evening light filters through mixed conifers and aspen; for broader recreation in Sequoia National Forest you'll find opportunities for biking, horseback riding and horse camping, off-highway vehicle routes, fire lookout or cabin overnight experiences, and interpretive programs offered elsewhere in the forest. The campground offers a total of 34 campsites: 24 sites configured for both RVs and tents, 6 glamping sites, and 4 tent-only sites. An amphitheater, picnic areas and vault toilets are on-site, and three small group sites (capacity information provided by hosts) are available for larger gatherings; note that turnaround space is limited and RVs longer than 26 feet are generally not accommodated. Quaking Aspen is operated by Rocky Mountain Recreation Company (a division of ExplorUS) campground hosts provide comment forms and facility-specific details are available from the operator; for up-to-date information on fees, reservation policies and seasonal access call (661) 455-6010 or check the operator's reservation site. Nearby day-trip destinations include the Trail of 100 Giants (about 10 miles away), Dome Rock and the Needles formation and lookout for varied short hikes and viewpoints.
