“A very quiet and easily accessible place. Camp hosts were wonderful! Lots of walking trails right from camp. And the moose…certainly a sight! Doyle Creek is beautiful and just a nice place to sit and enjoy nature!”
“VERY QUIET!!! Small great separation, shaded, but not very level. Fishing is not good, to get to the good pools of fish you have to walk one and a half hours upstream.”
“VERY QUIET! Fishing is not very good, have to walk upstream 1.5 miles. ”

Doyle Creek Campground sits about 30 miles west of Buffalo on the east side of the Cloud Peak Skyway in Bighorn National Forest at roughly 8,100 feet, surrounded by dense lodgepole pine and sited along a creek that opens onto a small meadow. The campground contains 18 sites in total: 17 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site. Each site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill; the loop is served by vault toilets, a hand-pump for drinking water, and campground trash collection. There is no on-site dump the nearest dump station is about 20 miles away at Powder River Pass so plan accordingly. Two non-towed vehicles are allowed per site; the base fee covers the first vehicle and the second vehicle is charged $9.00 per day at the campground. Reservation refunds requested through recreation.gov incur a $10 processing fee that is retained by the reservation contractor (the concessionaire will not refund that contractor fee), and the campground is administered by Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds (gccampgrounds13@gmail.com) for questions about local policies. The immediate area offers a mix of mellow and backcountry recreation: scenic off-highway driving on nearby Elgin Park, Pole Creek and Crazy Woman Canyon Roads (and the Cloud Peak Skyway) is popular, and those roads also permit hiking and mountain biking; ATV trails run adjacent to the camp. For more remote travel, many hiking trails penetrate the nearby Cloud Peak Wilderness, and fishing is commonly enjoyed in the campground creek and the local streams and lakes. Wildlife viewing is a draw here thanks to varied habitat. Expect summer daytime temperatures typically in the 60s 90s with nights dropping into the 50s; June can be rainy, and thunderstorms or snowstorms may develop at any time, with frosts becoming likely by mid-September. Access is most directly reached from US Highway 16 west of Buffalo with a short county-road turnoff to the Hazelton area; the broader Bighorn National Forest also supports auto touring, biking, boating, horseback riding, hunting, OHV use, winter sports and other outdoor pursuits for visitors who want to explore beyond the campground.
