About

Adams Fork Campground sits among tall conifers along the Adams Creek fork of the Cispus River and provides a compact, river-side camping experience within the Randle Recreation Area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The facility offers 23 paved, back-in sites that accommodate both tents and RVs (site type: 23 both RV & tent sites), and several sites sit right on the riverbank for easy access to water and fishing. Three double sites are available for larger groups. Sites tend to be on the small side but remain usable by many RVs the maximum parking spur length is 30 feet so plan accordingly if you have a longer rig. There are no electrical or water hook-ups; drinking water, vault toilets and iron fire rings are provided. The campground is popular with off-road vehicle riders who use the nearby trail network, so expect ORV traffic coming and going. An extra vehicle fee applies ($8.00), staffing at the site is limited, and the Forest Service office can be reached at (360) 686-3008 for general questions. The campground is a practical base for a wide range of outdoor activities. The Valley Trail system radiating out of the area offers about 50 miles of multi-use trails popular with dirt bikes and ATVs but also open to hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders; the Cispus River below Adams Fork holds brook trout for anglers. Adams Fork puts you within reach of Mount St. Helens and the Windy Ridge viewpoint near Randle, and the broader Cowlitz Valley Ranger District manages several nearby wilderness areas including Goat Rocks, where the Cispus River begins in glacial valleys. Access is generally from Randle off State Highway 12 (then Highway 131 and county/Forest Service roads 23/21/56), and reservations and policies are handled through Recreation.gov. Note the campground's cancellation and no-show rules: cancellations up to two days before arrival incur a $10 fee; cancellations the day before or day of arrival incur a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee (one-night reservations are fully forfeited), and no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night. Refund requests must be submitted within seven days after the reservation end date; in an emergency closure all fees will be refunded.
