Indian Creek Campground sits at the edge of Rimrock Lake in the Wenatchee (Okanogan-Wenatchee) National Forest, where the Tieton River winds through rugged mountain slopes, wetlands and stands of mixed conifers. The campground is a convenient base for high-country outings: anglers can fish Rimrock Lake, the Tieton and nearby alpine lakes for trout, salmon and steelhead, river runners time whitewater trips to the Bureau of Reclamation releases on the Tieton (notably in September), and hikers can access local routes such as the Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail and longer stretches of the Pacific Crest Trail. Wildlife viewing is frequent mountain goats and migratory birds are common and the broader region provides habitat for species including bald eagles, spotted owls, wolves and grizzly bears and visitors should be prepared for the full seasonal range here, from many warm, sunny summer days to deep snow in winter that supports skiing and other winter sports. Practical amenities are straightforward and rustic: the campground has exactly 38 sites, each set up to accommodate both tents and RVs, and every site includes a picnic table; vault toilets and a potable water source are provided, but there are no electrical hookups. The site has limited staffing (call 661-702-1420 for general information) and is reached from Highway 12 near White Pass roughly 37 miles west of Yakima or about 20 miles east of White Pass/Packwood. Reservations and refunds are handled through Recreation.gov and carry specific fees and timing rules: cancellations made two or more days before arrival incur a $10 cancellation fee; cancelling the day before or on the day of arrival results in a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee (one-night reservations forfeit the full amount); no-shows are charged a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and add-ons (sites are held until check-out the day after the scheduled arrival). Refund requests must be submitted within seven days after the reservation end date and, in the event of an emergency closure, all fees will be refunded.
