Bridge Hollow Campground sits in Browns Park, a remote high-desert valley carved by the Green River and best known for its outlaw-era history and the nearby John Jarvie Historic Ranch. The campground provides 11 sites that accommodate both tents and RVs (including a group site), each furnished with a picnic table and a metal fire ring; drinking water and restrooms are available at the developed campgrounds adjacent to the Jarvie day-use area and vault toilets serve the campground community. Access is toward the northern edge of Utah near Dutch John roughly 55 miles north of Vernal via the Clay Basin route with an additional 22 miles on gravel (note one stretch has a 17% grade), while approaches from Crouse Canyon are narrow and not recommended for RVs; visitors coming from Maybell, Colorado will follow Highway 318 with the final miles on gravel. Bridge Hollow is strictly first-come, first-served: you must be physically present to pay and claim a site the same day you occupy it (no advance reservations). Payment options include the recreation.gov Scan & Pay feature on the app or the on-site iron ranger that accepts cash or check; fees are $10 per individual site and $35 for the group site. Pets are allowed but must be leashed. The campground is an excellent base for river-based recreation and day trips into the wider Browns Park and Flaming Gorge area. The Green River runs past Bridge Hollow and supports excellent fly fishing the stretch from Flaming Gorge Dam downstream to the Colorado line is managed as blue-ribbon water but anglers must use artificial bait only and observe size limits (all fish 13 20 inches must be released; you may keep two fish under 13 inches and one fish over 20 inches). River flows can change daily (reported between about 830 and 4,500 cubic feet per second), and life jackets are required by Utah law; commercial outfitters need permits, while private float trips on the Flaming Gorge Dam-to-Ladore Canyon reach do not. Equestrian and OHV trails thread the surrounding public lands, guided tours of the Jarvie Ranch can be scheduled by calling ahead, and Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge and Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area are close enough for day excursions. Between the river access, historic interpretation, and the sense of wide open country, Bridge Hollow gives campers direct access to both active water sports and quieter stretches of desert river history.
