“Great spot for groups. Clean camp. Clean facilities.”
“Awesome campsite. Clean bathrooms, clean campsite. The Bowery was a great addition as well. Plenty of room for our group to spread out and the neighbors aren't too close as well. ”
“No one came to replace the toilet paper. We had to go buy some. ”

Arch Dam Campground sits on the high, sage- and pinyon-dotted bench of Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, inside Ashley National Forest at about 6,200 feet. The campground is less than a mile from Flaming Gorge Dam and the Green River spillway and about 3 miles from Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Cedar Springs Marina, so water activities are the big draw: the reservoir is known for lake, brown and rainbow trout and supports boating, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and even scuba diving. The Green River below the dam is a launch point for rafting trips that move through dramatic geology and past sites tied to outlaw history and Native American rock art; the dam itself offers guided tours and a visitor center with area exhibits. Because of that mix dam tours, marina services nearby, reservoir access and river rafting Arch Dam is frequently chosen for family reunions, church outings and other large group gatherings. The campground consists of a total of 3 campsites (site type breakdown: 3 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites) configured as large group sites: two sites accommodate up to 75 people each and one site up to 60 people. Each site has picnic tables and a campfire circle, with drinking water and vault toilets on site; roads and parking spurs within the sites are dirt, and shade is limited across the rolling high-desert meadows. Public showers are available about 3 miles away at Deer Run Campground. Road access follows U.S. 191 through the Flaming Gorge area (the campground lies a few miles south of Dutch John and is roughly 46 miles north of Vernal), but check current conditions because dirt spurs and seasonal closures can affect access. For fees, reservations and seasonal opening dates, contact the Forest Service or Flaming Gorge visitor center before you go; beyond water sports, the broader Ashley National Forest offers biking, horseback riding, OHV opportunities, interpretive programs, picnicking, wildlife viewing and even overnight stays in some fire lookout cabins.
