“There with a group of four different camp sites. We wee able to reserve them close together. Campsites were clean. Camp host was friendly, helpful but not overbearing. We have stayed here with our family for the past 5 - 6 years. We plan on returning again.”
“First off I never camp in designated camp areas, but our camp hosts for loop D&C were amazing and the couple that runs the marina at soldier Creek were awesome”
“The campground loop A has lots of young pine trees to provide a little shade and privacy from other campers. The campground hosts were pleasant. The temperature was about 20 degrees cooler than down in town. ”

Soldier Creek Campground sits at about 7,200 feet on the shore of Strawberry Reservoir, where rolling sagebrush-covered hills give way to panoramic water views and stands of young pines and aspens that provide pockets of shade. The reservoir is the primary draw here: anglers chase rainbow and cutthroat trout and Kokanee salmon while boaters take advantage of open water for water-skiing, canoeing and general cruising; a marina, boat ramp, rentals and a fish-cleaning station are all located on-site, and the campground's fees include use of the boat launch and the on-site dump station. Trails radiate out from the lakeshore for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders, and the nearby Strawberry OHV Trail System offers about 75 miles of routes for off-highway vehicles. If you want interpretive programs or a closer look at local fisheries work, the Strawberry Visitor Center complete with a nature trail and a working fish trap and egg-collection station is a short drive away. The campground is large and organized: there are 162 total campsites, specifically 143 sites designated for both RVs and tents, 18 RV-only sites, and 1 tent-only site, arranged across Loop A (81 sites), Loop B (38 sites), Loop D (23 sites), the LT Loop (19 sites) and one pavilion/group site. Sites are spaced roughly 50 75 feet apart, roads are paved, and every campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring; Loop A offers the best shade among pines and aspens with some covered picnic tables, while the loops closest to the reservoir have covered tables and many sites with privacy/wind screens. Facilities include a large group overnight pavilion that holds up to 100 people, a dump station and convenient day-use beach access about a quarter mile away; note there are no shower facilities. Fees are collected by cash, check or Scan & Pay single sites are $39 (capacity 8), double sites $77 (capacity 16), the overnight group pavilion is $386 per day (capacity 100) and day use pavilion pricing is $322 per day (7:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m., capacity 100) though pavilion day use is first-come when no overnight reservation exists additional charges include a $15 day-use fee, $10 parking fee and $10 per extra vehicle. Reservations and policy details follow Recreation.gov rules (a $10 service fee applies to most changes/cancellations, late cancellations may forfeit the first night's fee, no-shows can incur a $20 service fee, and refunds must be requested within 14 days of departure); for facility-specific questions call (385) 273-1100 or manage bookings via Recreation.gov or 1-877-444-6777.
