“Excellent campground, well maintained. Clean and sites were well separated from each other. Boat launch was also well maintained. Beautiful spot. ”
“Hosts were super nice. Even jumped my car when the battery died. Very welcoming! Just a few minute drive to the reservoir. Campsite had gorgeous views! ”

Currant Creek Campground sits at about 8,000 feet on a hillside above Currant Creek Reservoir, where stands of aspen, fir and lodgepole pine give partial shade and summer wildflowers color the understory. The site layout totals 79 campsites spread across four loops Loop A has 22 sites, Loop B 4, Loop C 32 and Loop D 21 with 78 sites set up to accommodate both RVs and tents and one site configured for RVs only. Facilities are substantial for a forest campground: campsites have cement pads, picnic tables, campfire rings and grills; the campground offers flush toilets, drinking water and a dump station; there's a boat ramp and an accessible fishing dock on the lakeshore, plus a fish-cleaning station and a small store at the entrance selling basic camping and fishing supplies, firewood, ice and limited food. Currant Creek Trail begins in Loop D, making it easy to step from your site onto the reservoir loop trail, and the campground includes single, double-family, group and equestrian sites so you can bring horses, larger parties or a mixed-vehicle rig. Boating, fishing (rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout), hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing are all immediate draws; nearby Race Track Creek Trailhead and Coal Mine Hollow add off-highway vehicle opportunities and extra trail options. The campground is reached from Heber City via US-40 (about 45 miles east to the Currant Creek junction, then roughly 17 miles northwest on a mix of paved and graded gravel forest roads) with an alternate approach via FS Road 082; stay on the main road that follows Currant Creek toward the dam and then around the reservoir to find the campground near the lake's southwest end. Fees are posted on Recreation.gov and accepted by cash, check or Scan & Pay typical rates include $31 for a single site, $62 for a double site, group sites at $134 or $180 depending on size, a $15 day-use picnic fee and a $10 extra-vehicle charge; camping fees include boat launch and dump-station use, and a seasonal Strawberry/Currant Reservoir pass is offered for $122 (pass does not cover group-site access). Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov (transactions appear as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777"); note a $10 service fee applies to most changes or cancellations, late cancellations may forfeit the first night's fee, no-shows can incur additional charges, and refund requests must be made within 14 days of departure. For facility-specific questions call (385) 273-1100.
