David S ★ 2 · Aug 2020Nearly constant truck traffic (mostly gravel, but some logging) significantly detracted from our enjoyment of this camp ground. The heavy truck traffic also resulted in the access road (from Highway #35) being quite wash boarded. The facilities were clean and it was nice to get out of SLC's heat. But the noise and dust from the truck traffic made it a less enjoyable experience!
Michael D ★ 2 · Aug 2020Site #3 on the website lists that this is a 30ft max trailer/RV vehicle length. This not even close to accurate. My family has a 19ft Travel Trailer and site#3 had only enough length available for half of the trailer and then no tow vehicle parking. This is not a suitable campsite for anything larger than a very small car and a 2 person tent. We contacted the Camp Host there in site, who was very pleasant with a great sense of humor, and she said to leave feedback on the website so future campers would not be is this situation. Recreation.gov was also contacted. I must say that Mill Hollow is a beautiful destination and the campground is nice. We did walk around to see the other sites and Just a heads up that several campsites that are listed for Trailers and Coaches, are not suitable for anything but cars and tents. Some of the campsites require some serious jack-knifing of your trailer at 90 to about 120 degrees, on the one-way road, so disconnect your weight distribution bars on your hitch. Happy Camping! Site #3 should not even be listed as a campsite.
Desiree E ★ 3 · Aug 2020I really enjoyed Mill Hollow as a whole. The reservoir was great and close to the campsites. The camp hosts were also very nice. The one thing keeping my from rating Mill Hollow higher was my individual campsite A9. It should be considered a picnic site. The area we were told we were supposed to be able to put our tents was filled with tree stumps. But not all were equal. The one below mine was huge and luckily for me my friend across the way had extra room so I put my tent there. My friends site could accommodate 3 tents. Mine managed to fit one very small tent but only in the driveway area.

Mill Hollow Campground sits at about 8,800 feet on a forested hillside immediately below Mill Hollow Reservoir, where fir, lodgepole pine and aspen create shady sites and a steady backdrop of birdlife and summer wildflowers. The small reservoir is the focal point for water-based recreation: anglers fish for rainbow and albino rainbow trout and canoeing or kayaking across calm water is common. Two trailheads inside the campground put hikers on the 1-mile Lakeshore Trail and the longer 3-mile Mill Hollow Trail; a short footpath climbs from the loop up to the reservoir. The campground contains 27 single sites in total 17 sites configured for both RVs and tents and 10 tent-only sites with several family sites among them; each single site is listed with an 8-person capacity. Basic services are provided onsite: vault toilets, drinking water and the short walking access to the lake. Fees are paid by cash, check or Scan & Pay: $27 per single site, $15 for day-use picnicking within the campground, and $10 for an extra vehicle. Access is via State Highway 35 southeast of Woodland, turning onto Forest Road 054 for a short gravel run to the campground entrance; Soapstone Basin is about 8 miles north for off-highway vehicle riders, mountain bikers and birders who want to explore beyond the lake. Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov (phone 1-877-444-6777); facility-specific questions can be directed to (385) 273-1100. Note the reservation rules before you book: a $10 service fee applies to most changes or cancellations, and late cancellations (the day before or on arrival) for individual campsites result in forfeiture of the first night's fee in addition to the $10 fee in many cases single-night cancellations forfeit the use fee but may not incur the additional service charge. No-shows can be assessed a $20 service fee and forfeiture of use fees, and refund requests must be made within 14 days following departure. Because this is a high-elevation forest setting, check current road and weather conditions before you go.
