Wood Camp sits at about 5,600 feet on the banks of the Logan River, roughly 13 miles east of the city of Logan along the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway. The campground is very small six single sites in total and each site is set up with a picnic table, a metal fire ring and plenty of shade; vault toilets are available on site. All six sites are configured to accept both RVs and tents and are rated for up to eight people plus one vehicle per site. The posted overnight fee is $25 per single site (day-use is $15), and an extra vehicle is $10 per vehicle, per day; you can pay by cash, check or Scan & Pay through the Recreation.gov app. Because campsites require a reservation, note the cancellation and change rules: a $10 service fee is withheld from refunds, cancelling the day before or the day of arrival incurs the $10 fee and forfeits the first night's use fee (one-night reservations cancelled forfeit the entire amount), no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night, and early departures may be eligible for a partial refund if staff or the call center are notified. Reservation transactions appear on card statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777 NM." The campground's riverside position makes it a quiet base for a wide range of activities in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest anglers will find trout water right nearby on the Logan River, and trail access for hiking, biking, horseback riding and climbing is immediate from the canyon corridor. The Old Juniper Trailhead, just outside the campground, leads to the Jardine Juniper, a roughly 1,500-year-old tree said to be the oldest in the Rockies. Driving the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway from the campground brings striking limestone walls, fossil-rich rock faces, and summer and winter recreational access (hiking, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, OHV use and more), plus valley attractions in Logan such as the historical Jensen Farm and local cheese makers and performing arts offerings. If you have an interagency pass, be aware that Senior and Access passes (Senior Annual, Senior Lifetime, Access Pass, Golden Age and Golden Access) may discount the recreation fee for individual campsites only, the pass holder must occupy the site, and the discount does not apply to reservation fees, extra vehicle charges, group or multi-use sites, or cabins check Recreation.gov for current pass rules and seasonal availability before you go.
