“Campsite 1, the group site is listed as use for RV camping. There really is not a large area to park an RV. Otherwise great area.”

Friendship Campground sits at about 5,600 feet in Blacksmith Fork Canyon roughly 15 miles from Hyrum, Utah, surrounded by a stand of maple trees that keep the sites pleasantly cool in summer while grasses and summer wildflowers add color around the campsites. The facility is small and straightforward: six total campsites (five single family sites plus one group site) that accommodate both tents and RVs, with each single site outfitted with a picnic table and a fire ring and an accessible vault toilet serving the area. The group area is the first site on the left as you enter the campground. From Hyrum, reach the campground by driving about 9 miles east up paved Blacksmith Fork Canyon, turning onto Left Hand Fork, then continuing 4.5 miles on a rough dirt road to the campground. Fees are modest: single sites are $18 per night (capacity 8 people and one vehicle per single site), the group site is $61 per night (capacity 25), day use is $15, and extra vehicles are $10 per vehicle per day; payments accepted by cash, check, or Scan & Pay through the recreation.gov app. Recreation at Friendship is concentrated and immediate: the Richards Hollow Trail for hiking and mountain biking begins just outside the loop, Left Hand Fork offers fly- and spin-fishing for wild brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout, and the Shoshone ATV Trail System lies within easy reach for off-highway vehicle users. The campground also serves as a convenient base for the wider Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest activities auto touring, horseback riding, boating and swimming where water access exists, wildlife viewing and interpretive opportunities along nearby routes such as the Logan Canyon National Scenic Byway. Important reservation details: changes or cancellations carry a $10 service fee, late cancellations may forfeit the first night's use fee (and the $10 service fee), no-shows can be assessed a $20 fee and lose use fees, and refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of departure; reservations and billing are handled through Recreation.gov (transactions appear as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777").
