About

Lodge Campground sits along the Right Hand Fork of the Logan River at about 5,600 feet in Logan Canyon, roughly 12 miles up Highway 89 from the town of Logan. The site is small and quietly tucked off the main route, with a heavy understory and middlestory that give the ten campsites a good degree of privacy; you'll hear the river through the trees for most of the campground. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring, and all ten sites are configured to accept both tents and RVs (single-site capacity is eight people). Vault-style restrooms are the only toilet facilities on site, so plan accordingly for a rustic, low-infrastructure stay. Fees are straightforward: $22 per single campsite, $10 for day use, and $10 for each extra vehicle. Because seasonal openings and reservation rules can change, it's a good idea to check with the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest office before you go. Outdoor opportunities begin at the campground's road end: an ATV and four-wheel drive network fans out toward Cowley and Blacksmith Fork Canyons, and a trailhead provides access to the Great Western Trail plus a web of hiking routes. The Right Hand Fork of the Logan River runs right by the campground and is regularly fished for rainbow and cutthroat trout, making it a convenient base for anglers. Beyond the immediate area, the broader Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers a range of activities hiking, biking, horse riding and horse camping, OHV use, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and interpretive programs so Lodge works well as a quiet, rustic jumping-off point for both short day trips and longer back-country adventures.
