Spring Campground sits alongside the Left Hand Fork of the Blacksmith Fork River roughly 12 miles up Blacksmith Fork Canyon from Hyrum, Utah, at about 6,000 feet elevation. The site is small and quiet three single sites total, each configured to accommodate both tents and RVs (capacity 8 people and one vehicle per site). Every campsite includes a picnic table and a metal fire ring, and there is a vault restroom on site; there are no mentions of hookups or extra amenities, so plan on a relatively rustic stay. The grove of maples that shades the campground, and the grasses and summer wildflowers that carpet nearby openings, help keep temperatures comfortable on hot days. Fees are modest: individual single sites are $18.00, day-use is $15.00, and an extra vehicle is $10 per day. Payment can be made with cash or check, or via Scan & Pay in the Recreation.gov app. Recreation clings close to camp: anglers can fish the Left Hand Fork for wild brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout, and the Richards Hollow Trail good for hikers and mountain bikers begins nearby. For off-road enthusiasts the Shoshone ATV Trail System is within reach, and the broader Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers additional opportunities such as auto touring, boating, horseback riding, interpretive programs, and wildlife viewing. Because the campground has only three sites, reservations are recommended; be aware of the reservation policies on Recreation.gov: cancellations incur a $10 service fee (and cancelling the day before or the day of arrival also forfeits the first night's use fee, with one-night reservations forfeiting the full amount), no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night, and date changes outside the original reservation window carry a $10 change fee. Interagency pass discounts apply only to the recreation fee for individual campsites (Senior Annual/Lifetime, Access, Golden Age/Golden Access passes), the pass holder must occupy the site, and other charges such as reservation or vehicle fees are not discounted. Refunds and other policy details are handled through Recreation.gov.
