Guinavah Campground sits on the banks of the Logan River just east of Logan along the Logan Canyon National Scenic Byway, where a gently flowing stretch of water threads through a stand of mature black willow, maple, and oak trees. The shade from those 75-year-old willows keeps many sites cool in summer, and the campground shows strong fall color when the leaves turn. The river is the obvious draw here: anglers find good trout water, and the current is gentle enough for tubing and canoeing. A network of hiking and mountain-bike trails crisscrosses the canyon; the Riverside Nature Trail and the Crimson Trail can both be accessed from inside the campground, and the broader Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest supports a wide range of outdoor pursuits from auto touring and boating to horseback riding and interpretive programs if you want to expand your outing beyond the river and nearby singletrack. Facilities at Guinavah are straightforward and group-friendly. The campground offers 42 total campsites: 29 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 13 tent-only sites, plus three group sites that each accommodate up to 100 people; an amphitheater with bleacher seating sits adjacent to Group Site C. Roads through the campground are paved, though the individual parking spurs are not; flush toilets and potable drinking water are provided. Note that the site is currently closed due to reconstruction check Recreation.gov or call the facility number (385) 273-1100 for the latest status and to confirm availability. Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov (1-877-444-6777); be aware of the $10 service fee on changes or cancellations, the penalties for late cancellations (including forfeiture of the first night's fee in many cases), and potential no-show fees (up to $20 plus forfeited use fees). Refund requests must be made within 14 days of your scheduled departure; reservation charges will appear on bank statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777."
