Hoop Lake Trailhead Campground sits at about 9,000 feet in the northeastern corner of Utah, roughly between Flaming Gorge and Evanston, Wyoming, and serves as a direct launch point for boating and fishing on Hoop Lake as well as a gateway to the High Uinta Wilderness. The small, timbered site looks across the water and provides anglers and paddlers with ready lake access, while trail users will find the Hoop Lake trailhead and many routes for day hikes or horseback rides nearby; Beaver Meadow Reservoir is also close by for more fishing. The campground contains seven campsites that are designated for both RVs and tents; each site comes with a picnic table and a fire ring, and a vault toilet serves the loop. Wildlife viewing is a common pastime here expect waterfowl and songbirds along the shoreline and larger animals such as elk, deer, moose and beaver in the surrounding forest and the campground's modest size keeps the atmosphere quiet and focused on outdoor pursuits. Practical details matter at this remote site: Recreation.gov lists fees such as single sites at $18 (four single sites at that rate are shown, capacity eight), two group sites at $72 (capacity 30), one larger group site at $94 (capacity 50), day-use at $15, $10 for an extra vehicle and $5 for trailhead overnight parking. Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov and carry standard service and change fees a $10 service fee is withheld from refunds, and switching to dates entirely outside your original booking incurs a $10 change fee; extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates typically has no change fee. Late cancellations (the day before or day of arrival) are charged a $10 service fee and forfeit the first night's use fee (one-night reservations forfeiture rules apply), and no-shows incur a $20 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee. Interagency pass discounts are limited to certain passes (Senior/Golden Age and Access variants) and apply only to the recreation fee for individual campsites when the pass holder occupies the site; other charges and group reservations are not eligible. Refund requests can be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within seven days after checkout (or via the call center), and emergency closures result in full refunds; your credit card statement will show charges as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777 NM."
