“Camp hosts were amazing. Still wish there was a better reservation system. Haven’t been able to get our favorite site on our favorite dates in a very long time. ”
“This was our first time to dry camp with our fifth wheel. The new generator worked great and the site was good. It was a little tight pulling the fifth wheel out the loop past the garbage dumpsters. It would be good to trim the trees in that area a little higher.”
“It's a beautiful campground on the lake with generously sized sites. Our host, Philip, was extra friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were unusually clean for USFS pit toilet type facilities. Come prepared for water recreation in or on the lake!”

Pine Point Campground sits on the south shore of Timothy Lake at about 3,400 feet, a stretch of mixed conifer forest where many sites look out onto roughly 1,400 acres of water created as a reservoir for the Oak Grove Hydroelectric Project. The campground contains 27 sites that accommodate both tents and RVs; each site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill, and the loop is served by accessible vault toilets and potable drinking water. An on-site host is present seasonally, and the campground is reached from Highway 26 east of Sandy via Skyline Road and Forest Service Road 57 (roughly a 40-mile drive from Sandy). Expect basic, self-sufficient camping: the nearest gas and convenience store are about 18 miles away on Highway 26 and the nearest full grocery is in Government Camp, roughly 23 miles to the west. Timothy Lake is the focal point for summer recreation here boating, sailing, windsurfing and swimming are common, and anglers fish for kokanee salmon and various trout species. A relatively flat 12-mile Timothy Lake Trail loops around the water and is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders; that loop ties into the Pacific Crest Trail and connects toward Clackamas Lake Campground. The Clackamas Lake Ranger Station Historic District lies within a few miles and provides a look at early Forest Service architecture, while Mt. Hood and Timberline Lodge sit about 28 miles to the northwest for day trips. Reservations are prepaid at time of booking (payment in full charged to your credit card) and may carry a non-refundable online reservation fee; changes or cancellations can incur a service fee and late cancellations may have extra charges see Recreation.gov for rules and policies. The site is staffed seasonally (05/26/2023 09/30/2023: call 503-834-2215); when unstaffed (11/22/2022 05/25/2023) call 503-464-8515 for general information.
