“Beautiful campground with the most awesome Camp hosts!!! We absolutely loved our stay and the swimming hole across the street was perfect for those really really hot days”
“Nice clean campground. The camp hosts take great care of this site and the people who camp here. We love coming out here. Nearby creek and river access points and not too far from the lake. ”
“We had the spot for ADA. One down side to it was the light on the shed across the way at night. A little hard to look up and see stars. But it was a perfect site for us. We definitely have already planned another stay there. Staff there was amazing and very helpful. ”

Sharps Creek Recreation Site is a compact, family-sized BLM campground tucked into the lower slopes of the Cascade foothills about 18 miles southeast of Cottage Grove and reachable from the Dorena Lake / Row River area. The site offers 12 total campsites (12 both RV sites & tent sites) arranged for easy access to the adjacent day-use area and swimming hole; facilities on-site are simple but dependable, with vault toilets and running water. Reservations can be made through recreation.gov, or you can pay for non-reserved sites on arrival using the Recreation.gov mobile app note that you must download the app before you get to the drainage because there is no cell reception at the campground. Standard, non-refundable fees apply: a campsite fee covers one vehicle, and each additional camping vehicle requires a $5 fee collected at the site (cash or check payable to the Bureau of Land Management); the fee envelope receipt stub must be displayed on your dash. The setting is a working forest of Douglas fir, western hemlock, red cedar, red alder and bigleaf maple, with an understory of rhododendron, salal, ferns, salmonberry and vine maple and a forest floor mottled with oxalis, Calypso orchids and moss. A natural swimming hole carved among rounded boulders sits below an overlook and is the campground's main day-use draw a pleasant place to cool off but one where swimmers should use caution. Sharps Creek also has modest prospects for recreational gold panning, and wildlife signs range from small mammals and beaver activity to occasional tracks of elk and black bear; birders may spot species from Oregon juncos up to pileated woodpeckers and other conifer-forest specialists. The Row River National Recreation Trail and the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway lie less than four miles northwest, and Dorena Lake and the town of Cottage Grove provide nearby services. The Springfield Office of the Northwest Oregon District of the Bureau of Land Management administers the site, so check recreation.gov for current rules and reservation policies before you go.
