“Nice clean campsite in a beautiful setting ”
“I thought I was reserving a site along the river (like the picture shows), but instead ended up back in the woods. My reservation said I was in site 014, but the post (next to the site) read R14.”

Tahkenitch Landing sits on the eastern shore of Tahkenitch Lake, a 2,118-acre body of water framed by coastal pines and cedars and a fringe of grassy campsites. The campground is small 15 sites in total and each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring with grill; vault toilets and a day-use picnic area are on site and a boat ramp gives direct access to the lake. Officially all 15 sites are listed for both RVs and tents, but sites 2 8 have no turnarounds and are effectively best suited to tent camping or very small campers. There is no drinking water at the campground, so bring sufficient water for your stay. On the lake you can boat, swim and fish for cutthroat and steelhead trout, largemouth bass and yellow perch, and the shoreline and nearby dunes are good for birdwatching portions of local beaches are protected nesting areas for the snowy plover. The campground lies within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area on Highway 101 between Reedsport and Florence (about 9 miles north of Reedsport and 13 miles south of Florence), offering easy access to the Tahkenitch Dunes Trail across the road. That trail threads through conifer forest and open dunes to a Pacific beach; for a different pace, off-road vehicle trails at South Jetty are nearby. Beyond the immediate lakeshore, the Siuslaw National Forest provides opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping, plus interpretive programs and a visitor center in season. Note the reservation policy: campsites that are not occupied within 24 hours of the arrival time will be released as a no-show if you expect to arrive late, call the ranger station at (541) 271-6000 to let staff know, and check with them for current fees and seasonal availability.
