“Great views, glad there were showeres available. Great experience ”
“Wonderful campground and John is an awesome campground host. Too bad the reduction in forest service shows with lack of presence of forest personal. Shame on the President ”
“What can I say? It was a very good representation of Diamond Lak :) Campground is nice, big, busy, and well maintained.”

Perched at about 5,183 feet on the east shore of Diamond Lake, the campground unfolds along most of the shoreline with direct sightlines to both Mount Bailey and the peaked Mount Thielsen. The lake itself shapes much of the experience: an 11-mile paved loop invites cyclists to circle the water, swimmers test the cold clear surface, and anglers launch from one of the nearby boat ramps or cast from shore rainbow trout are supported by an annual stocking of some 300,000 fingerlings. Hikers have a variety of trailheads within easy reach, including connections to longer routes such as the Pacific Crest Trail, and Saturday evenings bring park rangers and volunteers to the campground amphitheater for interpretive programs. If you want services beyond the campground, a nearby resort within walking distance provides bike, boat and horse rentals, plus a store, laundry, fuel and places to eat; Crater Lake National Park lies within a reasonable day trip from the Diamond Lake area for anyone interested in the region's volcanic landscape. The campground is substantial and well-served: there are 229 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, with specific loop counts that include 37 sites in Loop K and 8 sites in Loop L; sites are available by reservation only. Each site comes with a picnic table, campfire ring and grill, while drinking water and flush toilets are provided in the loops and boat ramps and fish-cleaning stations are nearby. A staffed gatehouse (open daily 8 a.m. 6 p.m.) handles arrivals and information, campground hosts are on-site to help with questions, and there's an extra-vehicle fee of $5 per vehicle per night that must be paid at the campground entrance station when you arrive. Because Diamond Lake sits along OR-138 between Roseburg and the Crater Lake corridor, it's an accessible base for the Umpqua National Forest's wider offerings auto touring, horseback and mountain biking, OHV routes, climbing and backcountry trips, as well as picnic and swimming spots so plan your site reservation and vehicle needs ahead of time to make the most of the area.
