Ed H ★ 3 · Sep 2025The campground was very nice and well kept. Bathrooms were always clean and the garbage cans were empty the two times that we needed to utilize them. The campground host, that actually resides at Crescent Lake, was very polite and respectful. The MAJOR gripe I have isn't about the contractor caring for the campground, but the IDIOT'S from the Forest circus that chose to be talked into buying, (I wonder what tax payers had to pay for this) and installing the solar water supply! Whomever authorized this should be FIRED! They obviously don't have a clue what they're doing. To operate it you have to hold a button down for a minute and than you only get MAYBE a pint of water a minute! I'd call it a joke but there's nothing funny about it. Rip those things out and put the ol' reliable pump jacks back in. If the responsible party is reading this, get in touch with me. I have some beautiful beachfront property in Kansas that I'll sell you....cheap.
Jane S ★ 2 · Jul 2025One and 1/2 days were peaceful, reading and sitting by the creek, and watching the anglers (all quiet forms of recreation. One hot temperature day, a family of at least 6 kids moved in to the day-use area and the kids screamed up and down most of the creek for about 5 hours (not just loud voices, continuous screams). One angler left with an abrupt burst of speed and his truck (covered our campsite in dust) and then the couple in the campsite next to us chose to leave a day early because of the continuous screaming in front of their campsite (#14). Obviously conflicting interests. We talked about the situation with the woman you are contracting with and the couple who left did also. Major negative impact. I’ll consider E. Davis Lake after Labor Day when school is back in session. It is a beautiful spot.
Bob R ★ 3 · Jul 2025The campground is lovely as always , however right after we pulled in they came and posted no campfires ! This is a well developed campground and this early in summer it’s a bit ridiculous to not allow fires in the maintained fire pits . We left a day early because of this . None of the other local counties had restrictions in place yet .

East Davis Campground sits where Odell Creek drops into Davis Lake on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Range, about 19 miles west-northwest of Crescent and reached by following County Road 61, Highway 46 and Forest Road 4600. The developed loop contains 19 campsites, and every site is configured to accept both RVs and tents, so the campground works equally well for trailer travelers and car campers; keep in mind there are no water or electrical hookups. Each campsite comes with a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill, and the site area is served by vault toilets and a potable water spigot. Roads into the campground are typical Forest Service gravel approaches, and the setting delivers open views of surrounding Cascade peaks, seasonal displays of wildflowers, and frequent opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing along the lake edge and adjacent riparian areas. Recreation centers on Davis Lake itself, one of the Pacific Northwest's best-known fly-fishing venues the lake is managed for fly fishing only and is renowned for producing trophy rainbow trout and largemouth bass and the campground provides easy shoreline access for anglers. From East Davis you can also hike short routes to nearby lava flows, watch waterfowl and songbirds, or use the site as a base for longer outings into Deschutes and adjacent Ochoco National Forests, where roughly 1,600 miles of trails and nearly 2.5 million acres of public land support biking, boating, horseback riding, OHV use, auto touring, winter sports and more. Nearby interpretive and geologic attractions include the Lava Lands Visitor Center in Bend and Newberry National Volcanic Monument, and travelers often combine a stay here with a drive on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway. Sites are reservable through Recreation.gov check there for fees, seasonal dates and availability and note the reservation policy: once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
