Mark B ★ 3 · Oct 2025Road is pretty rough going in and out. Leveling a trailer/RV will be challenging. I didn't have enough blocks to level our trailer so I had a hard time sleeping. I had to back out of a pull through site because I couldn't avoid a stump due to the sharp turn. There are, however, several sites that are fairly flat and level. We got lucky. The weather was nearly perfect, the lake was calm and peaceful even with the occasional boat going by. Camp host was great and very accommodating. Overall this campground is very nice as long as you are ready for the challenges.
James G ★ 1 · Sep 2025Right on lake is nice. Right next to highway is not nice, loud. Really windy in evenings. Above all else, the road through campground is in terrible condition, you just have to crawl through it, taking forever and beating up your Truck. RV and/or trailer. Won't be back to this site, especially when paying so much and getting very little for it.
Michael H ★ 4 · Sep 2025Jennifer was a great camp host! She was kind and did a great job keeping the campground clean! We saw her twice this year, and both times were great. She even recognized us the 2nd time, which was welcoming. Bathrooms were very clean, however they definitely needed to be pumped before Labor Day. Contents were getting close to the opening.

Princess Creek Campground sits on the shore of Odell Lake amid a mixed conifer forest of Douglas fir, white fir, hemlock and scattered ponderosa pines, with huckleberry and wildflowers in the understory and the massif of Diamond Peak (8,744 feet) visible across the water. The setting is dominated by the lake wide open water that welcomes both motorized and non-motorized boats and can develop strong afternoon winds that make a boat the most effective way to fish. Wildlife is part of the experience here: deer and elk move through the trees, ravens call from the canopy, pine martens patrol the understory and native trout inhabit the lake; occasional black bear activity is reported, so standard food storage precautions are recommended. The campground contains 29 sites, each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, and all sites include a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill; vault toilets are provided but there are no water or electrical hookups, so campers must bring their own water and be self-sufficient. A concrete boat ramp gives direct access to Odell Lake for fishing, windsurfing or a day on the water, and the area's network of trails and forest roads supports hiking, biking, horse riding and wildlife viewing across Deschutes National Forest's extensive public lands. The site is reached from Crescent by heading west toward Highway 58 (about a 20 22 mile drive west-northwest of town), and a nearby resort on Odell Lake stocks basic camping supplies and sells fishing licenses. Note that Recreation.gov and the campground manager cannot modify a reservation once the reservation start date has begun, so plan changes should be handled before your arrival.
