“Wonderful camp ground very clean. I used to go alot as a child and everything looked excatly the same. Hosts are very nice and informative. ”
“We were in spot 37. Very private with amazing scenery around it.”
“This was my first time camping at Gull Point. I was impressed with the size of each camp spot. Even though campers used generators we could not hear them. Campsite 77. Nice view of the lake and access to trash and bathrooms. I went in July and there were no mosquitos!”

Gull Point sits along the edge of Wickiup Reservoir, about 27 miles south of Bend off Highway 97 and reached by turning west toward Wickiup Junction and following Road 43 and Forest Service Roads 42 and 4260 for the last stretch. The campground's 80 sites are scattered through an open mixed conifer stand that lets sun and shade alternate through the day, and several sites sit right on the water's edge. All 80 sites accommodate both RVs and tents, and the layout favors roomy pull-through and back-in spots rather than tightly packed pads. Basic services include drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, and a dump station, and there are two large day-use areas with boat launches and fish-cleaning stations. Reservations are managed through Recreation.gov; note that once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation. Seasonal openings and road conditions vary plan on some Forest Service road driving for the final miles and check Recreation.gov or the Forest Service for current access and fee information before you go. Outdoor options cluster around the reservoir and the nearby volcanic landscapes. Gull Point is a straightforward base for boating, canoeing, swimming and shoreline fishing: Wickiup's relatively warm shallows and cooler deep channels produce strong trout fishing, with brown trout often reaching very large sizes (fish to 20 pounds have been documented, with typical catches in the 5 8 pound range); kokanee, coho, rainbow and brook trout, whitefish and chub are also present. Hikers and wildlife viewers will find a patchwork of wetlands, lava flows, pine forest and rocky slopes that attract shorebirds, deer, porcupine, bats and the occasional black bear; the reservoir's variable water level exposes sandy beaches at full pool and steep gravel banks when it's low. For geology and interpretive programs, the Lava Lands Visitor Center in Bend and the Lava River Cave in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument are nearby draws, and the campground provides easy access to the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway for auto touring, biking and broader day trips through Central Oregon's volcanic high country.
