“Not great for kids. Nails all over the site we were in. Looks like it was previously set up as a homeless camp. Not our jam but thankful we were only here for one night. ”
“Nice quit campground. The spots are fairly isolated from each other, so that’s nice.”
“Beautiful location! We make a point of coming here every year!”

Set along the McKenzie River about an hour east of Eugene, McKenzie Bridge Campground sits at roughly 1,200 feet in the shade of tall Douglas firs and Western red cedars. The site is compact just 18 campsites in total and each site is configured to accommodate both tents and RVs, with gravel parking areas and many sites offering direct riverfront access. Basic amenities are straightforward and reliable: vault toilets and potable drinking water are provided, and a boat ramp on-site makes launching for a day on the river easy. The grove and river corridor attract a variety of birds; osprey, great blue herons and occasionally bald eagles are commonly seen along the banks, giving the campground a quietly active, wildlife-friendly character ideal for anglers and people seeking a relaxed riverside stay. Outdoor opportunities center on the McKenzie River itself and the adjacent trail system. The river at McKenzie Bridge offers catch-and-release fishing for trout and steelhead and is a well-known stretch for whitewater kayaking and rafting thanks to its rapids; the boat ramp supports those activities directly from the campground. The McKenzie River National Recreation Trail begins nearby and runs about 26 miles along the river, providing relatively easy hiking and biking suitable for families. Beyond the river corridor, the broader Willamette National Forest supports a wide range of activities biking, boating, day hiking, camping, wildlife viewing and winter sports among them and services such as local restaurants and the Tokatee Golf Course lie only a few miles away. For current fees, reservation options and seasonal access, contact the Willamette National Forest or check recreation.gov before you go.
