Delta Campground sits along the McKenzie River corridor on the West Cascades National Scenic Byway, about 51 miles east of Eugene via Highway 126 and the Aufderheide Drive turnoff. It is one of the larger campgrounds on the McKenzie District, with 37 sites each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents spread close to river access and wooded spots. On-site you'll find a day-use area and an amphitheater, plus the short Delta Old Growth Nature Trail for a quick botanical walk; these features make the campground useful for both quiet evenings at camp and small group programs. Reservations are accepted for the busy season (May through mid-September); you may book as early as six months out, but reservations must be made at least 4 days prior to your arrival. Delta is particularly well placed for water-based recreation: the McKenzie River here is a favored stretch for rafting and drift-boat fishing, and a non-motorized boat launch sits within a mile of the campground (a motorized launch and flat-water access are available within ten miles, near Cougar Reservoir). Mountain biking and hiking trails branch off nearby, and Terwilliger Hot Springs is within a short drive for a soak after a day on the water or the trails. If you're planning a broader Willamette National Forest trip, the area also supports fishing, boating, swimming, wildlife viewing, horse camping, OHV riding, winter sports and other outdoor pursuits Delta makes a practical basecamp where river access, trail options, and a compact set of campground amenities come together.
