“Our camp host, Connie, was the best we’ve had in 5 yrs. She kept the sites clean, the toilet was the cleanest it’s been, and she was so friendly and accommodating. ”
“Nice stay in the campground! Pit toilets very respectable in early June. Beautiful area. Would stay again. ”

Slide Creek Campground sits on the east bank of Cougar Reservoir about 50 miles from Eugene, Oregon, at roughly 1,700 feet elevation. The site is compact a total of 15 campsites and each site is set up to accommodate both tents and RVs, with picnic tables and campfire rings at every space. Some campsites open onto views of the reservoir, and all are within an easy walk of the sandy swimming beach. Amenities for overnight and day-use visitors include drinking water, vault toilets, a boat ramp, ample vehicle parking, and a separate lot for boat trailers, so launching for a day on the water is straightforward. To reach the campground from Blue River, head east on Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Service Road 19) and continue on the forest roads toward Slide Creek; the drive from the highway into the Aufderheide corridor is roughly 11 miles on FS roads. The reservoir is the hub for much of the campground's recreation: water skiing, swimming, canoeing and fishing are all commonly enjoyed here, and anglers often target rainbow trout on the roughly 1,280-acre Cougar Reservoir. The campground also provides convenient access to the Olallie Trail Area, a large network of trails for hiking where about half the routes are open to mountain biking. A short side trip brings you to Terwilliger Hot Springs, where five soaking pools are fed by Rider Creek waterfall. Beyond the immediate campground you're in the broader Willamette National Forest, home to Roosevelt elk, black bear, bald eagles and other wildlife, and offering additional activities such as horse camping, off-highway vehicle routes, fire lookouts/cabins for overnight stays, and winter sports. Because Slide Creek is small and popular with boaters and swimmers, check the Forest Service website or contact the district office for current fees, reservation policies and seasonal openings before you go.
