“Nice camp with just the right amounts of sun and shade.”
“Biking, hiking, and kayaking all from the forested campground. ”
“We spent shy of a week at this wonderful location. More noise than we wanted from the Lookout campground, but we had such a great time and our camp host Leslie was absolutely 💯 the best. Great area and would highly recommend. Just be ready for the bugs and algae. ”

Mona Campground sits on the shore of Blue River Reservoir within the Willamette National Forest on the western slopes of the Cascade Range, where a narrow strip of mixed conifers separates campsites from the water and affords a good degree of privacy. The site is compact 19 total campsites in all with 18 sites configured to accommodate both tents and RVs and one designated tent-only site. Campsites are mostly flat, each with a picnic table and a fire ring; the campground road and parking spurs are paved, making it straightforward to pull in with a trailer or motorhome. Basic amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, a campground host on site, and firewood for sale. Reservations are offered from May through mid-September; they can be made up to six months in advance but must be completed at least four days before your intended arrival. What draws people here is water: fishing, powerboating, canoeing, swimming and water skiing on Blue River Reservoir are the primary on-site activities, and the campground provides quick access to boat launches and shore fishing spots. Hikers and natural-history fans can reach Buck Mountain Trail and the Lookout Creek Old Growth Trail from the area, and the West Cascades National Scenic Byway runs nearby for day drives and sightseeing. Beyond the immediate campground, the Willamette National Forest supports a wide range of recreation biking, horse camping, off-highway vehicle trails, wildlife viewing and winter sports among them so Mona makes a practical base if you want to mix lakeside recreation with broader forest exploration. The campground is about 51 miles east of Eugene, accessed from Highway 126 via the Blue River turnoff and the road that follows the reservoir to the campground entrance.
