“Great places for easy walks and large areas for family games/sports activity. Creeks to soak in are close by and mostly accessible. Lots of wildlife and some that will make a mess of unsecured foods. Wonderful place to birdwatch. ”
“Campground is beautiful and well kept. Kim, the camp host, was amazing. She went far out of her way to help us secure a campsite. We will definitely recommend Whiskey Springs to our friends, and we will definitely camp there again.”

Whiskey Springs Campground sits in a shady stand of forest with flat campsites laid out around a single loop road, giving the area a classic woods-camping character. The campground occupies the alignment of the Old Military Road that once served Fort Klamath, so you'll find the place has a bit of local history woven into the landscape. There are 34 sites in all: 27 sites are configured to accommodate both tents and recreational vehicles, and 7 are tent-only. Onsite facilities are basic but practical vault toilets and a source of drinking water so plan on a rustic experience and bring what you need for cooking and comfort. Access is by vehicle from Butte Falls: head roughly nine miles south on County Route 821 (the Butte Falls Highway) and follow a short spur on Forest Road 3065 to the campground. Recreation at Whiskey Springs centers on the campground's own one-mile interpretive loop trail, which makes it easy to stretch your legs without leaving camp and provides a good introduction to the surrounding forest. For broader outdoor options, Willow Lake is nearby off the Butte Falls Highway and offers about 927 acres of water and shoreline for boating, swimming, fishing, hiking and more extensive camping, while the larger Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest supports a wide range of activities from biking and horseback riding to OHV routes, hunting, winter sports and wildlife viewing. Fees, seasonal openings, and reservation policies aren't listed here, so call the Forest Service for facility-specific information and current conditions at (541) 560-3400 before you go.
