Fourbit Ford Campground sits in a pine-dominated stand along Fourbit Creek, roughly a mile off the Butte Falls Highway in the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest. The campground is small and quiet, with 7 total campsites each site is designated to accommodate both tents and recreational vehicles so it works well for people looking for a low-density overnight base rather than a developed RV park. Facilities are minimal: there is a single vault toilet on site, and drinking water is not available at Fourbit Ford itself but can be obtained at nearby Whiskey Springs Campground. Vehicle access requires driving the County Road/Forest Road approach east of Butte Falls off Highway 62; if you need exact turn-by-turn guidance or information about seasonal road conditions and vehicle size limits, call the forest office at (541) 560-3400. The setting lends itself to trail-based outings and quiet nature time rather than campground amenities. Several trailheads are within easy reach, including access toward the Mt. McLaughlin Trail #3716, and Willow Lake about a short drive from Butte Falls provides a much wider range of recreational options on its 927 acres, including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and additional camping. The campground sits on the alignment of the old supply road for Fort Klamath (the Old Military Road), so there's a bit of local history under the pines as well. For details on fees, reservations, seasonal availability, or longer recreational plans across the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest (which supports activities from mountain biking and fishing to winter sports and horseback riding), contact the forest staff at the number above before you go.
