Excellent first come, first served campground but way to many spots are being “saved” by empty tents. Spot 7, a prime site, was unoccupied for three nights while we camped next to it. Other sites were being “saved” by empty tents as well.

    About

Scott Lake Campground sits within Willamette National Forest and is unusually small by design: total campsites: 1 the single campsite is set up to accept both trailers and traditional overnight campers (1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites). The site is strictly first-come, first-served, and you must physically arrive at the campground to claim and pay for the spot; there are no advance reservations. Payment on-site may be handled by scanning a QR code with the Recreation.gov mobile app using the Scan and Pay feature, but that option isn't guaranteed everywhere, so download the free Recreation.gov mobile app (https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app) before you arrive some areas of the forest have limited or no cell service. A daily fee of $5/vehicle/day or a valid recreation pass covers your stay, so bring the correct payment or pass and plan on claiming the single site early in the day if you want to secure it. Because there is only one site, Scott Lake functions more like a solitary basecamp than a multi-site facility; it's best for a single party traveling with either an RV or tent who value quiet and seclusion. The broader Willamette National Forest offers a wide range of outdoor activities biking, boating, camping, visits to fire lookouts and rented cabins, fishing, hiking, horse camping, off-highway vehicle use, picnicking, recreational vehicle access, swimming, wildlife viewing and winter sports and campers at this site can use it as a jumping-off point for those pursuits depending on where you choose to explore in the forest. Because services at very small campgrounds can be limited, bring water, fuel and other supplies you'll need, and check current conditions or forest notices before you go.
