Osage Bluff Park sits on the western shore of Harry S. Truman Lake amid the rolling hills and rocky bluffs of the Ozark Plateau, where mature stands of oak, hickory and cedar frame views over the water. The campground gives quick access to the lake Osage Bluff Marina and a public boat ramp are right next to the park so fishing and boating are the primary draws: crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish and blue and channel catfish are common, and the reservoir's roughly 8,800 acres of standing timber create excellent fish habitat that attracts tournament anglers as well as weekend fishermen. Birdwatchers and wildlife viewers will find turkey, whitetail deer, hawks, ospreys and bald eagles in the area, and the Harry S. Truman Visitor Center atop Kaysinger Bluff (with exhibits about the dam and the Osage River Valley) is a short drive away and worth a stop for interpretive displays and views of the reservoir. The campground provides 61 campsites in total, and every site is listed as suitable for both RVs and tents; specific hookups include sites reported as 25 with 50-amp electric and water, 7 with 50-amp electric, 24 with 30-amp electric, and 4 non-electric sites. On-site facilities include flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry, a dump station and a playground, plus marina services adjacent to the park for fuel and boat needs. Osage Bluff lies about a mile off Highway 83 on Osage Bluff Road, so it's an easy turn-off for visitors exploring the 950 miles of shoreline around Truman Lake; for current fees, reservation rules, seasonal availability and any access requirements, contact the park or the marina directly before you go.
