“Absolutely love Sparrow foot Campground. They are so nice and friendly. Love Loop A and how close it i to the water. My kids love to float on tubes in the summertime. This has been the only place we went this summer and will def be using it next year!!!”
“I disagree with the fish being cleaned inside the lots that we camped next to. The flyers we so bad because there was blood all over the sites. Other than this it was a nice stay”
“The campground itself was very well kept. Our spot was easy to find and easy to get into. We did not use the restrooms/showers. Unfortunately we arrived a bit late to explore, and we were only there for the night. We would stay again, hopefully for a longer time!”

Sparrowfoot Campground sits along the Grand River arm of Harry S. Truman Lake in the rolling hills of western Missouri, where hardwood forests and patches of prairie slope down to rocky bluffs that reach into the water. The shoreline here supports abundant aquatic habitat roughly 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the reservoir so anglers come for crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish and catfish, and the lake is a frequent stop for tournament fishermen. On land, whitetail deer, wild turkey and a variety of raptors including ospreys and eagles are commonly seen; the mix of forest and grassland makes for clear sightlines and a feeling of being out in open country even when sites are shaded. The broader park includes a regional visitor center and a powerplant exhibit area, plus nearby trail opportunities such as the long, rails-to-trails Katy Trail for additional biking and hiking outings. The campground itself contains 85 total campsites: 83 sites accommodate both RVs and tents and two are tent-only sites in the small day-use/camp DUSE loop. Loop A has 56 sites and Loop B has 27 sites; the campground's utility split matches that layout Loop A sites provide 50-amp electric with water hookups while Loop B sites offer 30-amp electric hookups. Onsite amenities include two day-use group picnic shelters, a boat ramp, a dump station, drinking water, flush and pit toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a playground. Sparrowfoot is a good base for boating, fishing and wildlife viewing, with additional park activities nearby such as horseback riding, off-highway vehicle use in designated areas, swimming and other water sports. Access to the campground is from Highway 13 by heading east on SE 450 Road into the park; fees, reservation windows and seasonal availability can change, so contact the Harry S. Truman Lake visitor center or check the park website before you go.
