“Great place maybe a little less welll kept than years ago we were lucky had running water swim area is gone. Last visit was 30 years ago but good place to avoid crowds and noise.”
“We have always enjoyed camping at Buck Creek. The park attendants go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The bath house is cleaned daily which is a big plus. Love this park and always have a good time there. ”

Buck Creek Campground sits on the Arkansas side of Bull Shoals Lake amid hardwoods and cedar that frame the lake's rocky bluffs and outcrops. The campground offers 37 sites in total: 35 sites set up to accommodate both RVs and tents and two tent-only sites, with most of the dual-purpose spots offering electric hookups for campers who need power. Family-friendly amenities include a playground and a designated swimming area, and boat owners will find a launch ramp right at the campground. One distinctive feature of Buck Creek is the Peel Ferry the last state-operated ferry in Arkansas which departs from the park and links Highway 125 across to Missouri, providing a direct route to the lower stretches of Bull Shoals Lake and easy access for day trips. Reservations are accepted, and cancellations made up to two days before a reservation start date incur a $10.00 cancellation fee. The wider Bull Shoals Lake area is a year-round draw for water sports, fishing, birding and hiking; summer fills the coves with boaters and jet skiers, while fall brings the "Flaming Fall Revue" as maples and oaks turn color. The lake itself covers roughly 71,000 acres and is fed by the White River, so anglers and boaters can follow the river's twists and find quieter pockets or wide-open water depending on where they go. Nearby, Bull Shoals-White River State Park offers two short trails the Big Bluff Trail for river-and-dam vistas and the Lakeside Trail that runs along the shore and marinas around the lake provide boat rentals, supplies and guides for hire if you're looking to fish or explore farther afield. To reach Buck Creek from the Mountain Home area, expect a drive north through state and U.S. routes to Highway 125 the campground is accessed from the Arkansas side of the lake and well signed from the highway.
