Oakland Park sits on the shores of Bull Shoals Lake and offers a compact, practical campground that works well for boaters, anglers and family groups. The campground has 31 total campsites 30 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site all equipped with water and electric hookups so you can arrive with gear and get set up quickly. On-site facilities include hot showers, flush toilets and a dump station, plus a boat ramp and a marked swimming area for easy lake access; there's also a small playground and a single group shelter for gatherings. If you want to get on the water but don't have a boat, nearby marinas around the lake rent boats, sell supplies and can connect you with guides; Bull Shoals is known for year-round fishing tournaments and big bass, with species ranging from panfish to walleye, while the nearby White River is a premier trout fishery. The landscape around Oakland Park shifts with the seasons summers bring green hardwoods and cedar glades that contrast with rocky bluffs and unusual formations around the shoreline, and fall draws visitors for the area's vivid foliage displays. Beyond the immediate camp loop you can paddle, boat or cruise dozens of coves, explore nearly 20 other public parks and 11 marinas around the more than 71,000-acre lake, or follow trails and quiet roads for hiking, biking and wildlife viewing. The campground is accessible from Mountain Home: head north on AR-5 and then west on AR-202 to reach the park entrance. Reservations are accepted; note that cancellations made up to two days before a reservation start date incur a $10 cancellation fee. For site-specific questions or the latest availability, call the park at (870) 425-2700.
