“Nice area but make sure you aren’t close to the bathrooms the smell was terrible and the last thing I wanted to smell in the morning while making breakfast ”
“Great campsite! We were site 12, which was good for 3 tent sites. Great views and camping expperience, only "issue" was the reservoir water/beach were pretty gross/dirty but was still nice to enjoy for short. periods/is great for kids. Overall, we had a great time!”
“Overall the site was great. We had many sites for large family reunion. And it worked out well for everyone with tents and RVs. ”

PLUMAS NATIONAL FOREST - BECKWOURTH RANGER DISTRICT

Perched at about 5,800 feet on the shoreward side of Frenchman Lake, Spring Creek Campground sits where the Sierra Nevada gives way to higher desert and the Cascade foothills a landscape shaped by old lava flows cut by creeks. The campground contains 34 single-family sites, and every one of those sites is configured to accommodate both RVs and tents; each site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill, and paved roads with paved parking pads make access straightforward for trailers and tow vehicles. Site #23 is the accessible campsite; vault toilets and a drinking-water spigot serve the loop, but bear-resistant food lockers are not provided. A campground host is on duty and water and garbage service are available during the peak camping season; two group sites are also provided for larger gatherings. For current fees, reservation rules and seasonal opening dates, call the facility at (530) 836-2575. Spring Creek is essentially a launch point for lake- and forest-based activity. The clear water of Frenchman Lake is only minutes away and is where you'll find swimming, powerboating, water-skiing and jet-skiing; trails and quiet service roads radiating into Plumas National Forest make it easy to hike or mountain bike for a few miles or spend a day exploring the forest's backroads, and upland hunting is a seasonal option in the surrounding national forest. Nearby points of interest include the Little Last Chance Canyon Scenic Area and the broad Sierra Valley, while the small towns of Chilcoot and Loyalton provide basic services and supplies. From Reno, the campground is reached by heading north on U.S. 395, turning west on Highway 70 toward Chilcoot, then north on Highway 284 to the Frenchman Lake Reservoir cross the dam and continue a short distance to Spring Creek.
