“Loved that it’s right on Jackson Lake. Our site was literally a few steps from the lake and view of Tetons!”
“Campsite was a little steep for our RV and tight(couldn’t open awning—but didn’t need to) plenty of shade. Beautiful lake, deer walked right through the campsite, could hear Elk bugling at night. Would camp here again for sure!!”
“The reservation, check in and stay was all very enjoyable. The campground, campsite, and restroom facilities were clean as was the greater campground area.”

Signal Mountain Campground sits on the southeast shore of Jackson Lake, occupying a slightly elevated band of lodgepole pine at the foot of Signal Mountain, an 800-foot glacial moraine that looks out across the water toward Mt. Moran and the spine of the Teton Range. The campground's 79 sites are arranged in three loops 62 sites are suitable for both RVs and tents, five are RV-only, and 12 are tent-only with vehicle pads sized for RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. Twenty-four sites offer 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups (these are especially popular in the shoulder seasons), the first loop contains most hookup sites and the last loop is generator-free. Every site includes a picnic table, fire ring and a bear-proof food storage box; a dump station, trash/recycling, and four comfort stations (potable water, flush toilets, sinks and hot water) are located on the grounds. The campground is normally one of the first in the park to open and one of the last to close, but lingering snowpack in early season and the potential for wintry weather in May and October make layered clothing and flexible plans advisable. Signal Mountain is a practical base for both water and trail activities: two short trails start virtually from the campground the 3-mile lakeshore out-and-back that follows bluffs to a backcountry campsite, and the 6-mile Signal Mountain Summit loop while classic park hikes at Jenny Lake, Lupine Meadows/Cascade Canyon, String Lake and Paintbrush/Taggart lakes are a 15 20-minute drive. Jackson Lake itself is nearly 7 miles across, up to 15 miles long and more than 400 feet deep; summertime water temps commonly run 50 70°F, and the marina at Signal Mountain Lodge rents kayaks, canoes and motor boats and coordinates guided fishing and scenic Snake River float trips. The lodge complex immediately adjacent to the campground expands services beyond campsite basics token showers and a laundromat, internet access and on-site cell service, a general store with gas and grab-and-go food, restaurants, a bar, and guided trip bookings making it easy to arrive without every piece of gear. Wildlife is a constant presence (mule deer, red fox, coyotes, occasional bears, and fish-hunting bald eagles and osprey), so food storage rules are actively enforced; all campsite fees, reservations and cancellation policies are handled through Recreation.gov (no onsite payments accepted).
